DESCRIPTION:To kick off ArtWalk weekend\, The Walsingham Gallery presents a painting demonstration by artist Maris Platais on Saturday\, Oct. 18 from 3-7 p.m.  A native of Latvia\, Platais has lived in New England since 1949. He is a graduate of Tufts University and the Boston Museum School\, and a member of the Guild of Boston Artists. He will demonstrate his technique for creating detailed pen and ink renderings of nature scenes and historical maritime vessels. Event is free\, and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
