DESCRIPTION:Join the students of the Spring SRT program in this public staged-reading performance as they take on the work of David Mamet. From The Duck Variations\, A Life in the Theatre\, American Buffalo\, Glengarry Glen Ross\, Speed the Plow\, Oleanna\, and The Anarchist\, Mamet pokes\, prods\, challenges\, and humors audiences with his keen social commentary\, street tough characters\, and incendiary language.\n\nWhat is SRT? The Firehouse's arts education program Senior Readers' Theater is show biz without the stress! Individuals perform while comfortably seated and there is no memorization required. We welcome individuals aged 55 and older\, regardless of experience\, to participate in the magic of theater. Together\, we explore a script in detail\, develop a character\, focus on the use of voice and gestures\, and finally  offer a Public Performance at the Firehouse (just like this one!).
