Two Chamber Members Awarded in Workforce Training Grants

Massachusetts Awards $7.9 Million in Workforce Training Grants to 111 Massachusetts Companies

The state's Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development announced $7.9 million in workforce training fund grants to 111 Massachusetts companies, saying the funds will be used to train 5,243 workers and create an expected 522 new jobs. The announcement was made at the Danvers campus of North Shore Community College.

The Workforce Training Fund is a program of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and is administered by Commonwealth Corporation, a quasi-public state agency that fosters partnerships between industry, education, and workforce organizations.
  • Crystal Engineering was awarded $81,600 to train 28 workers, 5 additional jobs expected by 2019.
  • Turning Point Inc. was awarded $94,800 to train 64 workers, 16 additional jobs expected by 2019.
