Registration Opens for Run for the Ocean 5K
March 17, 2017
HAMPTON—Registration is now live for Blue Ocean Society’s 2nd Annual Run for the Ocean 5K, presented by The Beach Plum as part of the Society’s World Oceans Day Celebration on June 3.
Race participants will enjoy a unique 5K course that is half on the boardwalk, half on the beach. Along the way, they’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery while supporting Blue Ocean Society’s work to protect marine mammals and keep our beaches clean. Both runners and walkers are welcome to participate.
The registration fee is $25 for adults, $12 for children, and $20 for teams of 8 or more adults. The first 150 registrants receive a free organic cotton t-shirt with an exclusive design created for the race. Visit https://www.runreg.com/run-for-the-ocean to register for the race.
Following the race, there will be a beach cleanup that is open to families, individuals and groups. Participants can help beautify the beach while helping with the Society’s long-term study on marine pollution along the Seacoast.
In addition to The Beach Plum, other major sponsors include Aquarion Water Company, Revision Energy, and QA Technology Company.
