14th Annual Newburyport Chocolate Tour!

  • Share:
March 06, 2017
On May 20th from 1 - 5 p.m., take a wonderful walking tour throughout downtown Newburyport.  Stop in at 30+ stores and cafes to sample tasty chocolate treats.  Everyone is welcome and we promise a fun, spirited day.  Tickets are just $15, going on sale on April 17, and only 400 are sold, so don't let this slip by... Its a great Mother's Day gift and activity too!

The Tour is organized by the Central Congregational Church of Newburyport and 100% of the proceeds go to local community programs.  This year, the programs are:  Prescription Refill Programs for Seniors, the MSPCA/Nevins Farm (our local animal shelter, Kids As Peacemakers and Habitat for Humanity (our local Salisbury build).

Advance tickets may be purchased at these Newburyport locations:  Brass Lyon, Newburyport Olive Co., Fresh Hair Salon and the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce.  Tickets will also be available on the day of the event outside the Unitarian Universalist Church on Pleasant Street, in Market Square (center of town), and at the Olive Company (in the Tannery).

Many thanks to our major sponsors:  Amesbury Industrial Supply, Institution for Savings, Parry and Parry Law and Title, Keller Williams Realty and Yankee Fireplace and Patio.

To volunteer or for further information, please call (978) 729-2263 or visit our Face Book page:
The beneficiaries of the 14th Annual Newburyport Chocolate Tour proceeds are:

Prescription Refill Assistance Programs through the Amesbury, Salisbury, Newbury and Newburyport Council on Aging.

At times, elders of our local communities are unable to pay for their prescription co-pays and may choose to forgo regular dosages to stretch their medications.  These programs offer small financial assistance so no one has to make this choice.

Habitat for Humanity (Merrimac Valley Chapter)
We of the greater Newburyport area are delighted to welcome the first local build of Habitat of Humanity to our area.  The project will break ground in the fall of 2017 and is located near the beach in Salisbury.  It will offer housing to at least 4 - 6 families.

The MSPCA/Nevins Farm
We are supporting the medical fund for our local animal shelter located the Nevins Farms in Methuen, MA.  Almost every animal that is surrendered to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm is in need of some type of medical care.  Some may only need basic vaccines or routine surgery, while others may be suffering serious injury or living with undiagnosed and treated illnesses.

Kids as Peacemakers
This program, started by a local Newburyport couple many years ago, is now seen on the national stage.  It promotes peace through the use of art as seen in large outdoor signs colorfully decorated by community groups and displayed to further messages of peace and hope.
