Quality Assurance Coordinator

Job Description
Turning Point, Inc. (TPI), headquartered in Newburyport, MA, is a private, nonprofit, community-based human services agency, providing a full range of supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities since 1971. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator who will oversee and administer the Quality Assurance programs for the organization. Responsibilities:
  • Monitors residential/ ISS programs/projects funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to ensure compliance with regulations, federal, state and local policies
  • Provides oversight, guidance, monitoring and training to management/staff regarding quality control licensing/accreditation standards to ensure adherence to DDS, federal, and state quality regulations
  • Conducts quarterly quality monitoring of our programs
  • Maintains HCSIS database for reporting compliance/follow up with DPCC filings, Medication Occurrence Reporting
  • Acts as organization’s Human Rights Chairperson
  • Oversees First Aid/CPR/PAC employee certifications/trainings
Required Qualifications:
  • BS/BA plus 3+ year’s work experience developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems and processes in a Dept. of Developmental Services (DDS) funded organization supporting intellectually disabled individuals is required
  • Thorough knowledge of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), regulations and the ISP process is necessary
  • Prior group training experience regarding quality standards/regulations, as well as reporting/record keeping is a must
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, applicable federal, state and county regulations/policies regarding human services quality assurance systems/regulations
  • Strong problem solving and independent judgment skills to analyze information, formulate recommendations and evaluate processes/procedures for quality compliance
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, state agencies and the general public
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
