SUMMARY:Raising the Bar Seminar - Understanding the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act
DESCRIPTION:Massachusetts Equal Pay Act While federal law currently requires employers pay all of employees equally regardless of gender\, Massachusetts legislature enacted the Equal Pay Act\, which is scheduled to go into effect July 1\, 2018. This new state law is different from federal law and contains additional requirements for employers. \n\n\n\nThis seminar will provide information regarding the differences between these state and federal laws and tips on remaining compliant. Attendees will also learn about how conducting a self-audit before 2018 may help some employers avoid future legal issues.\n\n\n\nMaureen Louise Pomeroy of Pomeroy Law PC and Jill Panall of 21 Oak HR Consulting will provide both the legal and human resource view points on this new law.\n\n\n\nPomeroy Law handles a variety of legal matters involving businesses\, employment\, real estate\, contract\, business formation\, civil litigation.
